Lawmakers Feeling Heat from Government Shutdown

This is a fairly simple article about a very complicated subject. The reason I find it exemplary is because it takes the chaos of what is going on with the most recent government shutdown and puts it into very simple words while still giving a lot of information. I find that a lot of people aren't updated on current events because it's difficult to understand what reporters are saying on TV and what 'wall street' word that was in the New York Times. This article takes all of the information being reported other places and makes it easy to understand while still being informitive. The style of the writing is very casual which is appreciated because, let's be honest, elaborate linguistics can be confusing. Another plus side is that it would be considered a relatively short article. It only takes a few minutes to read and then be 'in the know' versus reading an eight page article in the New York Times, juggling the flimsy pages and trying not to be swallowed up by the density of page 12. In conclusion, it is surely a successful piece of writing that I would consider exemplary.
